YM Weekend - All Northern Nevada/Northern California AWANA Trek & Journey Clubs

YM Weekend in Northern California will be held on February 23-24, 2024. Arrive & Check In on Friday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. See below for location and directions.

YM weekend is an exciting time when Awana students and leaders from all over Northern California and Northern Nevada get together to enjoy an extended time of fellowship, friendly competition, food and loads of fun.

Friday evening is check-in time for teams and the Fine Arts Festival begins with live performance arts [singing, dancing, music, etc.] and some static art displays. Everyone is welcome to be part of the audience and support the teens in sharing their gifts and talents. Each area of fine arts is reviewed live and has judges that offer feedback then use a rubric for grading that matches the published guidelines.

Food (including fruit, a sweet snacks bar, water and cold drinks), fellowship, table games and visiting with friends will be available nearby.

Upon completion of fine arts, we will gather for announcements, sharing and a short devotional. At the close of the evening students and leaders are dismissed to enjoy a good night's sleep. Some groups stay onsite (via arrangements thru the host church) while others make their own reservations at nearby hotels.

Saturday starts with breakfast followed by separate sessions for Trek and Journey Bible Quizzing (based on their current Awana books). After Bible Quizzing, we will present Fine Arts Festival awards followed by Bible Quizzing awards. Then all students and leaders are dismissed to lunch (provided on site).

The afternoon is all about AwanaGames! Teens compete with their local team against other clubs. Students can register as individual games participants and will be welcomed onto another team or organized onto a combo team, so everyone is assured an opportunity to participate. YM weekend concludes with AwanaGames awards.

Registration fees for the different activities are:

Fine Arts Festival

YM Weekend features a Fine Arts Festival that allows Trek & Journey students to showcase their talents and skills.  Arts are broken down into individual and group arts.  Click on the tabs below for more information on how you can explore and showcase your talents.

YM Weekend Fine Arts Festival participants have a chance to earn Camp credits for West Coast Honor Camp! First place in a Fine Arts category receives $120 toward camp registration fees, and second place receives $60. A single participant may receive credits from multiple categories up to a maximum of $120 per year. Credits will be split equally among those participating in a group presentation or performance.

To compete for Fine Arts Festival certificates, plaques, and Camp Credits, students:

  • must be registered for YM Weekend (see your Awana Leader, Coach or Director).
  • must be registered for the Fine Arts Festival.
  • must be registered for and participate in either AwanaGames, Bible Quizzing, or both.

Camp Credits may be transferred within a household (such as among siblings) but are otherwise nontransferable.
